Android naming for Icon Names

Hi Guys,

Discovered that the Icons can fail to load and apply correctly if the icon name is not capitalised. I was using lowercase icon names (e.g. "key"), and they would work in iOS, but didn't work in Android. By changing to "Key" they appeared to be picked up.

Hello @cammanderson, thanks for opening the issue. I believe you hit the same case as in issue #156. This needs some fixing. 👍

After checking this issue more closely, the name property in the plugin configuration would need some adjustments.

This will fail to change an icon on Android due to the incorrect activity name when executing setAlternateAppIcon("key").

But calling setAlternateAppIcon("Key") will succeed, because it will match the generated activity alias. Types are generated based on the plugin configuration, so this will be incorrect from the TS pov.

I believe the best solution would be to require a capital letter naming and let it fail fast during the prebuild phase. Wdyt @INDAPP, @AntonioLoco?

Hey @pchalupa, it seems like a legitimate issue. Because of this issue, my users need to reinstall the app to accommodate the change due to the migration of the icon change library. Any plans of fixing this?

Dopo aver esaminato più attentamente questo problema, la nameproprietà nella configurazione del plugin avrebbe bisogno di alcune modifiche.
