Certainly gdbserver support is there. Although I'm not an embedded expert. For non-embedded use, there is this:

$ seergdb --connect <host:port> [--sym <symbolfile>] [<executable>]

Or use the Connect tab when starting Seer.

Note, you'll likely need to point Seer to a multi-arch version of gdb. Do that in Seer's config dialog.

For embedded use, another guy is contributing his time and programming skills to add the "embedded debugging" features to Seer.

I'm currently setting up a simple embedded environment to debug with. A STM32 mcu, breadboard, and a JTAG device.

I should mention with the --connect method, Seer does not launch gdbserver. You do that. Then you launch Seer and connect to it.

Essentially, gdb-server will open a Ethernet port or serial port (UART), and the gdb in the host machine (x86) will connect to that port. This works exactly like "connect" mode of Seer.

Though you need to modify gdb program on Seer. The gdb in the host machine must support your embedded device architectures (ARM, RISC-V ...). Eg: gdb-multiarch ...

Go to Seer: Settings -> GDB -> GDB Program: to change path to correct GDB.
And remember to set your target architecture accordingly: set architecture aarch64 ...

thats normal with embedded targets - at least for most plattforms I know
